You are an individual committed to supporting others in making choices and living as independently as possible. You have experience in Domestic Abuse Support Work and can utilize relevant life experiences, whether from paid or voluntary work, education, or family situations, to excel in this role.

What the job involves

Your role as a Support Worker involves helping service users express themselves, make informed choices, and live independently with dignity. Key responsibilities include devising and implementing individual care and support plans, maintaining health and hygiene, supporting access to education or work, facilitating leisure activities, and maintaining family and social connections.

You will carry out domestic tasks, monitor health and safety standards, coordinate shift staff, manage medications, handle financial transactions, and ensure the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children. The position requires working on a rota, including nights and weekends, and adhering to mandatory vaccination requirements.

Skills

  • Experience in Domestic Abuse Support Work
  • Ability to devise and implement support plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety standards
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors
